FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What size screens do you stock?

All screens are cut to order in the dimensions that suit your application.

What materials do you use?

We work in aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel and corten (weathering steel).

Does Presto Cut do small jobs?

Yes, no job is too small.

What colours can I choose?

Our powdercoating division keeps stock of over 250 common and not-so-common colours from Interpon, Oxytech, Jotun and Dulux.  Most are displayed on the colour wall in our office to make selection easier.

Can I match the colour of the artwork to another object?

Powdercoat colours can't be tinted like wet paint, so the best way to get a colour match is to bring in a physical sample of the colour you want and compare it to powdercoat samples we have in our office.  It isn't practical to colour match to images on a phone.

How long does the top coat last?

There are many variables which can affect the life of a coating, however ten to twenty years is realistic provided the base metal has been properly prepared.

Can I make my own design?

Yes! Contact our team for a free quote and send in a high-contrast image that we can convert into a vector graphic file.  We use this file to create dxf files which can be read by our CNC plasma cutter or our vinyl cutter.

How long will it take for me to get my artwork?

We try and turn jobs around in 2 weeks, but this can vary depending upon our workload.

How do I attach my artwork to the wall?

If you want to mount your artwork away from a wall, we can supply small round spacers called standoffs which are about 15mm long.  Otherwise, you can mount the artwork directly to the wall using your choice of screws or wall plugs that are compatible with your wall's construction.

Can I use a plasma cut screen as pool fencing?

Keep in mind that the purpose of pool fencing is to keep kids safely out of pools, so any design that provides footholds for climbing is not suitable.  Check your local pool fence regulations to be sure about what is allowed.
